ya me ha sorprendido la vida.

Guess what... I'm going to Spain. Again!
When I think about Sam's and my last taxi ride to the aeropuerto almost two years ago, I remember thinking: "This isn't it. I will come back." And I am!

I have marked today, August 13, as the first big step in this new journey. Today I flew to Chicago and back which means I'm typing this in my safe, comfortable room, hunched over my computer which is sitting on the floor charging.

In Chicago, I shopped a little, ate some delicious food, saw my good friend Ben and his rockin' new apartment, and - oh yeah - went to the Spanish consulate to solicit my long term student visa. It's a student visa because they consider my job to be student teaching.

A very amable Spanish woman helped me. I've determined that the Spanish are like the French - they seem cool and aloof if you don't know the code, but once you know it, they accept you and you find them to be quite hospitable. Bad news: I'm not entirely sure of the code yet. I'll get it.
