It has been four weeks since I applied for my visa from the Spanish Consulate. When I applied, the waiting time was four to six weeks. They have since changed the expected waiting time to six to eight weeks. Since I have a plane ticket to leave between weeks five and six, I hope my visa is ready soon. No word back from the Spaniards yet.
Also, after berating my Spanish contact person for nearly a month, he finally agreed that the school should directly email me. Hooray! His English is comparable to my Spanish. We are fairly proficient with advanced grammar, but sometimes make mistakes when literally translating from language to language.
Despite this seeming confidence, I am certain my tongue will betray me a fair amount of times while I readjust to Spanish.
I leave so soon! This past weekend, I visited the OC and it was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. In the end, I was pretty exhausted, but I'm glad I went back. Next week will fly by and next-next Monday morning I will board a flight to Spain!
