Details, details

Only four more days. I can't really explain everything that I am feeling, and I don't want to try. I want to get everything done as quickly as possible so that I can just enjoy being here. This will probably be my last post from my comfortable room in my comfortable world which is all in English.

I thought that I should try to explain how this all works. I'm going to Spain through Trinity Christian College in Illinois. There are 47 students going, and most of us will fly out from Chicago together. We will live with roommates (from the program) with host families. I already know my roommate from school. Once there, we sign a contract not to speak any English with our roommates and friends.
All our professors are Spanish natives, all our classes are in Spanish, all our classmates are from the program. In Spain, our program is called Acento de Trinity. I don't find out my classes until I get there.
I will be living in Seville and our program takes weekend trips sometimes to other cities around Spain such as Madrid, Toledo, and Barcelona. We don't have classes on any Spanish holidays, and occasionally, we also get Fridays off. In October, we have a week off. I come back December 15.
Right now, I am working on packing my two 50lb suitcases. I kind of like that I have to fit everything into that small of something. I like the idea of living simply, but I'm sure that actually living simply will be an adjustment. I just need to remind myself that I do not need more.

Ellen...two days. TWO DAYS.
I had no idea we had to sign a contract saying that we will not speak in English. I've started purchasing parts of a hostess gift (Wisconsin jelly, syrup, pottery...etc) I think I'll have to group it together when I get there. Packing is hard. I feel like it's so final and I think I'm overly concerned with not looking too American. But all in all, I am so happy to be going on this adventure, and what's more, going on this adventure with my Elenacita.
