1. There is 1/3 lb of Christopher Colombus (confirmed by DNA tests) "buried" in the Cathedral of Sevilla.
2. You all need to stop reading this blog and go see this: One Semester of Spanish Love Song right now. Amelia is exempt, as she already knows about it. Someone in the biginers (wow. a new low. "beginners") or principantes as we like to call them, found this and we can all sing it. You will understand it. Don't worry. It was written by someone using only words you learn the first semester of Spanish.
3. After you see the above video, tell me what you think of it by leaving a comment as comments make me feel that this is actually worth me writing.
4. I subir-ed the Giralda. (subir is the Spanish verb that mostly means "to climb" and it is really the only one that fit subir-ing the Giralda.) I would have preferred to ride Little Star up it, as it is all ramps for the purpose of riding horses. We ran up the 35 ramps and 12? stairs and then ran around the top taking pictures. Then Sosi (another girl) and I ran back down the stairs and ramps and took off speed walking to get to the little kids by 6. We made it, but of course they were full of energy. Then I dragged my tired self home and slept like a log.
5. I am tired. I'm glad we have a long weekend coming up. I am staying here in Sevilla and plan to recover from all previous adventures. I'll work on getting pictures up. It's a little intimidating since I have about 500 new ones. Umm, they aren't all good, and most of them are of things we studied in art in the Cathedrals. I will narrow it down. Don't worry.
6. What else to tell you about... hmm. Classes are going well. I feel a lot like a sponge, just sucking in information all the time. A couple of times I've been speaking Spanish and not realized I was speaking in Spanish. That was cool. I think this intense "sponging" is bringing about my tiredness.
7. There is a dog that looks like a bigger version of Goliath outside our apartment. He makes me feel sad. He has a snaggle tooth.
8. Christopher Colombus in Spanish is "Cristobal Colon"
9. What else do you want to know about?

I'm commenting on your blog during History. How naughty. How usual. I would comment on the One-Semester-of-Spanish Spanish Love Song, but I unveiled it's glory to you via youtube, so we know that I think it's awesome.
Mi mama es bonito, mi gato es muy blank-o...
Whoa! Just experienced a first-semester Espanol flashback! At my age, it's always good to know where the bathroom is . . . I've committed that phrase to memory! So enjoying reading about your adventures. Keep 'em up and keep sharing! Prayers going out for you daily!
Ellen,Excellent, thanks for the link to the song. I don't know how to say eleven and never did, that was funny. I am procrasting getting ready for a presentation with an in patient psychiatry unit today and this is mucho more funo (is any of that spanish?) Can't wait to see you pictures. Is that part of Christopher Columbus more than is in Toledo? Love, Dad
I was glad there was the part about Anthony Banderas. I actually understood that! That tune will now be in my head the rest of the day!

Ellen! I loved the One-semester-of-Spanish spanish love song! And, i love reading your blog btw--it's so fun to hear about the adventures in Sevilla (since i'm kind of thinking about studying abroad there). Have a beautiful week!
Qué bien que hayas mencionado esta canción porque justamente la acabo de ver con una de mis clases... Yo pensé: "eso es algo que Ellen o Sara habrían escrito", y mira, aquí estás, escribiendo sobre ella. Qué te parece si escribieras una nueva versión: First semester of Spanish Abroad love song... o algo así. No sería interesante?
Tania Vargas
Ellen, that video is ridiculous! I actually laughed out loud :o) I especially appreciated the "au revoir" at the end, it really added a nice touch I think. I am glad to see that you are enjoying your semester in Spain. I have only one question: what 1/3 lb of CC is it? Or do I not want to know?
GREAT video Ellen! I loved it! And yes, this blog is worth writing. I love hearing about your adventures in Spain while I'm stuck here in Iowa.
Your blog is worth writing even if no one else ever reads it, because by blogging you are both solidifying and documenting your memories. Besides, your parents like to know what's going on in your life - I'm sure of it.
I stay home (in Oxford) nearly every weekend. No shame in it at all.
Thanks "mom" for giving me the courage to comment on the blogs! I have never done this! Schmona
