up to date

After a necessary blog break, the longest week of my life, two Spanish compositions and three big tests kicked more or less in the face (last Thursday and Friday), and my password remembered once again, I return to give you an update from the Iberian Peninsula.

Last Friday, Sam and I joined a gym. Way fun. The people there are very friendly (probably because they are full of endorphins) and we enjoy it a lot.

On Sunday, we went to a fútbol game with others from the school. It was stellar. This is a picture of Kelsey and I. I thought my shirt was appropriate. They tied, but hey, they didn’t lose and we got to yell and scream when they scored a goal. That was the best part, which I did not capture with a camera because I was, for once, living life without a camera attached to my wrist. I was too busy yelling. The team was Real Betis de Balompie or Betis for short. They have been around since 1907. Their mascot is a palm tree? which kind of looks like a carrot.

Friday, I leave for the biggest adventure of my life thus far. France and Italy. In a week. With one backpack that has to hold my night splints, teddy bear, bathroom stuff, and anything else I want to bring. I’m not checking luggage.
And I'm so ready to just go.

Last night we had prayer group and I prayed out loud for the first time since May under the Spanish sky. It was beautiful. I like Wednesdays.
Tonight I go to the convento. This is a picture from last week of Noelle picking up Jala. The little girl with her hand on her hips is Alba. This picture captures Alba perfectly. She's five.
